 Nuovo disco per i norvegesi ARABS IN ASPIC, sempre con scritture di buon livello, dove il prog, si mescola sempre piu' ad altri itinerari vedi il rock sinfonico, psichedelia, space rock fino a giungere a suoni dark,il tutto in una fluidità e in una melodia che ti porta dentro il loro mondo sempre più variegato.

Dove varie band erano ispirate da colossi tipo PINK FLOYS, JEFFERSON AIRPLANE E I DOORS. DOVE IMPERAVE UN FORTE SENSO DI LIBERTA' ESPRESSIVA,DI LIBERAZIONE DA SOFFERTI STILEMI,DOVE SI POTEVA NCHE IMPROVVISARE . Questi Smokemaster si sente che sono stati ottimi alunni e hanno ascoltato per bene certe band, questo loro album di debutto gia' li vede protagonisti di questa scena mai sopita.

Si sa sempre muovere tra elettronica ,pop e northern soul, il suo pane quotidiano.

 Il duo inglese KatieJane Garside e Chris Whittingham, cambiano ancora pelle, dopo essere stati RUBY THROAT, ecco questo nuovo progetto LIAR, FLOWER. Si viaggia sospesi tra un folk visionario, etereo a tratti minimal e poi ecco che arriva il rock sporco, ruvido, dove la voce di Garside ti porta dentro il suo mondo fatto di mille sfaccettature, dove ognuno di noi può trovare il suo punto di contatto.

 Nei anni 80, verso la meta', nella Liverpool di quel periodo musicale, esordirono i THE ROOM, non ebbero vita lunga ma vennero allora, paragonati a band del calibro di ECHO AND THE BUNNYMEN, JOY DIVISION, THE FALL, davvero una attenzione eccessiva. Di tempo ne è trascorso e DAVE JACKSON e PAUL CAVANAGH , fanno uscire il secondo lavoro, con questa nuova band. Sono 12 i brani che ci propongono e si muovono in vari campi, che rimandano ai THE RAILWAY CHILDREN, TINDERSTICKS, BERT JANSCH e NICK CAVE. Ci si muove tra momenti elettrici e altri post-punk,psych folk, facilmente assimilabile, direi piu' che promossi.

 Quinto album per l'estroso HANNI EL KHATIB , con il nuovo FLIGHT continua a flirtare con tutta la musica possibile, riesce sempre a sorprenderci e si fa fatica ad inserirlo in un genere, un po con BECK, per certi versi. Lui riesce a vagare tra stili differenti non curante di cio' che puo' pensare l'ascoltatore, a dimostrazione che mentalmente è libero, questa cosa è a tutto vantaggio di chi lo sta seguendo.

SPIRIT FEST with MIRAGE MIRAGE psychedelic picture

 Qui ci sono varie anime che si fondono in questo progetto i TENNISCOATS, MARCUS ACHER dei NOTWIST e MATT FOWLER e CICO BECK. Questo MIRAGE MIRAGE ci riporta ad un pop, leggero,  una vena melanconica ed un rimando a quei anni 60 in odore di hippy, freak, c'è davvero della genialità, un pizzico di sana follia , il tutto all'insegna di una amicizia solida che si riversa in queste note.
