 Alla fine dei anni 60 e inizi dei 70,in Inghilterra nasceva la famosa scena musicale di Canterbury, tra prog,jazz rock e psichedelia fluida.  Secondo disco per questi ragazzi Olandesi, di Rotterdam ,hanno il pregio di amare suoni e atmosfere care ai VELVET UNDERGROUND, riescono a passare da brani di spessore sonoro a momenti di riflessione, dove la psichedelia delicata, prende il sopravvento. Hanno anche spunti che ricordano i CHILLS oppure GO BETWEENS. Anche dal punto di vista di liriche non sono per nulla leggeri pur inserendoci dei tratti umoristici in un contesto esistenziale.

 Da dieci anni ci propongono la loro formula sonora, fatta di HEAVY,PSYCH particelle sonoro impazzite, con questo nuovo OMENS, mutano il tiro ,il tutto si fa ancor piu' ricco, grazie al sapiente uso di sintetizzatori, il quale riempiono ulteriormente il suono. Anche l'uso delle chitarre non sono piu' vere scimitarre da usare, il tutto in un neo contesto che vira verso il prog e lo space. Nuove interessanti variabili nel loro futuro.

Tranquilli troviamo anche la ballata ad effetto, un disco fatto per essere vissuto.

 Parlare di Gigaton è abbastanza semplice, i PEARL JAM tornano a noi dopo 7 anni, un lasso di tempo lungo per quanto riguarda il panorama musicale. Il loro rientro ovviamente è stato molto chiacchierato e pronti ad essere giudicati dalla stampa dopo la lunga attesa.Il classico disco ROCK lo definirei ne piu' ne meno,fatto di brani hard e altri tra ballate ed il funky ammiccante del primo singolo DANCE OF CLAIRVOYANTS. Ottima produzione nulla da eceppire,pero' forse personalmente avrei osato di piu' ,ma bisogna anche considerare che il tempo passa anche per loro.....

Talking about Gigaton is quite simple, PEARL JAM comes back to us after 7 years, a long period of time as far as the music scene is concerned. Their return was obviously much talked about and ready to be judged by the press after the long wait. . Excellent production nothing to eceppire, but perhaps personally I would have dared more, but we must also consider that time passes for them too .....

 Proprio cosi' cara vecchia NEW WAVE,oserei dire ,parlando nei confronti dei BROKEN UP,una band che riesce ad essere coinvolgente,energica nel fare la loro musica,oltre ad essere la cara new wave è anche dell shoegaze,due generi che riescono a fondere e a rendere SOUL VICTIM ,un bel disco.

 Sesto album per questi oramai quarantenni con alle spalle una bella esperienza già acquisita,continuano a fare i ragazzi dei esordi e così lo è anche la loro musica,per nulla scalfita dal passare dei anni.In questo album troviamo equilibrio tra i soliti brani marchiati STROKES ed altri dove si fa spazio la voglia di far ballare,con i synth in bella vista.C'è anche un fondo di malinconia che pervade in alcuni episodi,ma poi il suono solido,robusto rende il tutto più normale.

 TORNA IL MOZ,il cantore di una Inghilterra che continua a mutare di volta in volta,lui che politicamente si è sempre espresso in maniera libera e propositiva,cerca di ruggire ancora una volta come da sempre ha fatto,ma questo album lo si trova piu' che altro a prestare la sua voce,su basi musicale che a volte lo sovrastano,lo mettono in secondo pano e invece in altri ne esce la sua essenza,un disco sbilanciato e poco personale direi,definiamolo un esperimento che avrebbe meritato migliore sorte.
